Anak Agung Gede Sobrat (1911-1992)

Born in Ubud. He was closely associated with Walter Spies and Rudolf Bonnet and was a member of Pitamaha. He was a lecturer at the lndonesian Academy of Fine Arts, Yogyakarta, between 1957 to 1959, and was conferred cultural awards by the regional government of Gianyar and the provincial government of Bali. He was an Ubud style painter.

Ida Bagus Rai (1933- )

Born in Ubud. He studied painting under Dewa Ketut Rungun and the Dutch artist Rudolf Bonnet. His Ubud-style paintings frequently depict episodes from the Mahabharata.

Born in Panestanan, Ubud. He was a student of Arie Smit and his use of colour in his paintings distinguished him from his contemporaries. He paints in the Young Artists style.

Made Djirna (1957- )

Born in Ubud. He studied at the Faculty of Art and Design at the Art Institute of Indonesia, Yogyakarta. He received the Lempad Prize for Best Artist from the Sanggar Dewata Indonesia, Yogyakarta, in 1982, and the Pratisara Affandi Adhi Karya from the Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts, Yogyakarta, in 1983.

Nyoman Erawan (1957- )

Born in Sukawati, Gianyar. He studied at the Faculty of Art and Design in the Art Institute of Indonesia, Yogyakarta. In 1982, he won the Lempad Prize for art, and he was given commendations for his works from the Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts (1979 and 1985) and the Art Institute of Indonesia (1987).

Nyoman Lesug (1939- )

Born in 1939. He is a temple priest and this has greatly influenced his idyllic paintings of Balinese village life. He paints in the Ubud style.
